Day 3: OK, Science is fun, but time to take a short break.

Our first excursion was today! We took a boat out on the most breathtaking crystal waters to a snorkeling site where we got to swim with sharks, manta rays, and more kinds of fish than I’ve ever seen before. Then, we went to an island where we played volleyball with locals, got a ceviche tutorial, and ate delicious chicken and fresh fish. After another swim with more rays, we got to watch a coconut competition and fire dance! The boat ride back was another one of those moments where I had to ask someone to pinch me, just incredible views, music, and spending time with the group. We got back at the perfect time to start some research (we were getting the itch to plan for tomorrow’s sampling), so the rest of the day consisted of journal articles and good conversations. Our favorite way to wind down! After dinner and ice cream (thanks Warren and Jeff), we saw fireworks across the bay!! The perfect end to the perfect day 😊
